I have upped my skincare game this month of May so along with that new-found obsession with skincare products is, of course, a bunch of new items. This isn’t a massive haul as I don’t want my skin to feel overwhelmed with all the new products so I only got myself a few things that I will be incorporating in my routine one at a time.
Here are the skincare items that I have accumulated the entire month of May. Most of these are Korean products because I’ve heard so much raves about how amazing and how they’re perfect for sensitive skins like mine. I also got an item from The Ordinary — just one, which is surprising since people all over the world have been going gaga over this brand.
- The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA
- Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
- Mizon Snail Repairing Foam Cleanser
- It’s Skin Power 10 Formula VB Effector
- Dearberry Coco Vera Soothing Gel
- Skin Genie Apple Cider Vinegar Toner with Vodka and Witch Hazel
Skin Genie is a local brand and the Apple Cider Vinegar Toner is the only product out of all of these that I have yet to use. I have already posted a 14-days-after review of The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin, and the Garnier Micellar Water is just yet to be published. I also have a first impression of the Dearberry Coco Vera in my Drafts folder so just hang tight for those upcoming posts.
The other The Ordinary product that I got is non-skincare; it’s the High-Adherence Silicone Primer which is, well, a primer. I’ve only used this three times and I don’t know what I feel about it yet; I’ll let you know soon.
Included in one of my BeautyMNL orders is this Beach Born Sea Salt Spray which is my Holy Grail hair spray. I used to apply mousse on my hair but that proved to be too fucking tedious for my lazy self. Then last year, I discovered this product while I was scouring the BeautyMNL website. There were a lot of positive reviews and it was really inexpensive (180php for 100ml) so I decided to go for it. And now, we’re inseparable! I actually go nuts whenever I’m about to use up a bottle so I always see to it that I have a back up ready.
But wait, there’s more! I also got these incredibly adorable DIY organizers from Shopee. It was my first time purchasing anything from that site/app and I actually prefer it a lot more than Lazada. But let’s save that for a different post — if I do decide to write about it.
Anyway, these organizers are made out of thick cardboard and they’re called ‘DIY’ because you have to arrange them yourself. When you receive/buy them, they’re all in separate pieces and you’re basically putting them together — like a puzzle for vain grown-ups.
They’re pretty spacious and I actually didn’t expect them to be this big but I’m definitely not complaining! Although, I would probably need another one soon since I have another package, this time from Althea — containing yes, more skincare! — that will be arriving some time in June. (YEY!)
These DIY babies come in a lot of designs — some has a drawer, a mirror, and even a tissue holder! So they’re definitely great if you want an all-in-one organizer for your makeup, skincare, and maybe jewelry as well.
And that is it! What’s new in my life, you’re wondering (or not)? Well, absolutely nothing. I live a pretty boring life and I usually just sleep during the weekends. LOL.
