I have always been in love with criminal shows. There’s just something about the thrill and the suspense and the action that draws me into them. Plus there’s this fascination of mine over the USA’s criminal justice system. They have their own flaws, yes, but they’re infinitely better than what we have in my country.
But that’s beside the point. (And better saved for a different post.)
Two weeks ago, I was scouring my TV Time App and was looking for some new TV shows that I could watch. And The Blacklist was in my Recommended list.
Like a moth to a flame, I was immediately drawn. Since I’m a big fan of shows like CSI (every franchise), NCIS, Bones, Rizzoli & Isles, and Criminal Minds, this show just seems like the right fit.
Once I started it, I couldn’t find it in me to stop—even if my eyes were already half-closed.
I love that there’s a mystery within a mystery within a mystery; an inception of sorts. The mystery of who the next person in the Blacklist is going to be. The mystery of how this person connects to Red (James Spader). And the mystery of how this connection is to be used to make sense of the bigger mystery that is the life and past of Agent Keen (Megan Boone).
I’m nearly done with the second season and since the show’s currently halfway through its 5th, I still have a lot of catching up to do. But I really am looking forward to the next episodes. This show just keeps on getting better!
Also, I love the music! It’s like every episode I’d find a song that I just absolutely love!
