A Look Back at the MAC x The Simpsons Sideshow You Blush

I was browsing my old blog (because sometimes I just do that for no reason at all) when I stumbled upon this post from back in 2014—a review of the MAC x The Simpsons limited edition blush.

I can’t believe it’s been more than 3 years since I got this product and I actually am still using it up to this date. In fact, it still looks brand new and undented (except for the front part where there are a few scratches) and I don’t know how this is even possible but the engraved Margie Simpson is still there, perfectly visible.

You’d think that it would go away after at least 6 months of continuous and regular use, but nah, still there—well and alive (in a way).

This is definitely one of the best (if not the best) purchases that I made in the last 5 years. Yes, it was expensive as I did spend PHP1,270 on it (and not many people are willing to spend this much on a blush) but hey, it’s well worth it.

A lot of cheaper blushes would have been consumed in less than a year (or broken if you’re a clumsy-ass fucker who can’t seem to hold a grip on anything) so I’d rather pay a thousand bucks or more if the quality is top notch, anyway.

I went through my review of this from 2014 and not a single thing has changed—still long-lasting, still able to withstand the heat of this country and the oiliness of my face, still easy to blend… and basically still the same kickass blush that I know and love.

I have other MAC blushes but none of them performed the same or even remotely close to this so I don’t know what kind of sorcery was done to the formula of this product but I’m all for it.

It’s just too bad that it’s a limited edition item. 😦

NOTE: Photos taken back in 2014. This product is no longer available. But maybe eBay still has it???
ANOTHER NOTE: This week, I’ll be posting a bunch of “Look Back” posts where I review products that I already reviewed on my blog before but still am using until today—much like this post here. Let’s see if my thoughts on them have changed in any way.

  1. Ok masyado akong nag-eenjoy sa series na to. IDK if this blush is specifically good or all MAC blushes are? I just am not for the Simpsons packaging. But who cares, it’s LE so it’s not like I should even bother~

    1. Hahaha. Buti naman! 🙂 I have a MAC blush and it’s not nearly as good as this! I’m not a fan of the Simpsons and honestly, I don’t think I watched more than 2 episodes in my life. Pero kasi parang aligaga ako at the time to buy a MAC LE item so I just went for this. Hahaha

  2. I skipped the Simpsons collection entirely – I was initially excited about the collection but the product offering / colours didn’t jump out at me. Impressive that Marge’s imprint is still visible!
I’m glad you consider this one of the best purchases you’ve ever made… but yes, isn’t it tragic that it’s limited edition!? I bought a limited edition MAC blush that I LOVED, and tried to find a dupe for it because I was so fearful of running out. I did a blog post about my adventures if you’re interested. 😛
Well, if you’re even wanting a dupe of this shade, you can check out Temptalia’s list:

    1. I actually have a dupe of this already but it’s the formula that I’m after. I haven’t found anything quite like it 😦 Yes, yes! I’ll look at your post. :p
