A Look Back at My Holy Grail Sunscreen from Bioré

Ah, summer. This is probably my most hated season in the entire universe. It makes me hot, sweaty, and sticky in so many unmentionable places on my body. Plus, the excruciating heat that it brings to my country… ugh, what a fucking nightmare.

Along with the unforgivable sun is the need to apply sunscreen. I know, I know. One should apply sunscreen regardless if it’s the summer time or not but sometimes, I just tend to forget, okay?

But I’ve been trying to be religious with the application lately. And this one from Bioré has been my go-to since 2015.

The Bioré UV Face Milk has an SPF of 50+ and PA++++ (not really sure what this means exactly but I’m guessing it’s good) and is by far the only sunscreen that did not make my face excessively sticky and oily. Also, it didn’t break me out which is always a great thing.

This product claims to protect our skin against sunburn and premature aging, plus control shine. And it has ultra light textureeffective shine control & moisturizing formula; and waterproof formula.

It really does have a milky consistency, although this is thinner.

After almost three years of using this product, I’m still extremely happy with it and have repurchased it twice now. It’s such an amazing multi-functional thing that I not only use it as a sunscreen, I also think of it as a mattifying makeup primer because it does mattify my skin and it helps with a smoother makeup application because of its velvety texture (that’s similar to many makeup primers). It doesn’t help much with longevity of my base makeup, though, but I don’t really care.

Anyway, it’s summer (groan) and sunscreens are even more important this time of the year and I really highly recommend this product. It’s reasonably priced and one that would last you about a year of everyday use (if not more).

Watsons, SM Beauty Sections, and Landmark for PHP450 (if I remember it right).
LOOK BACK – I did this same thing weeks ago where I posted reviews of products that I already reviewed on my old beauty blog (which has now been set to private so don’t bother with it). These are products that I used then and still use until now. But I’m looking back at them to see if maybe, just maybe, my thoughts on each of these have changed over the years. Let’s see.

P.S. It’s Friday the 13th. Enjoy the Friday payday madness, folks!

  1. I fell out of love for this 😦

I think it’s due to age. I’m still oily but a lot less than I was when I was several years ago. I find it drying on me so I switched to sunscreens that can double up as moisturizer.

    1. Suggestions, please. Naghahanap ako ng ibang moisturizer kasi nageemphasize din neto yung ibang dry spots ko. 😦
